The National Library of Medicine is displaying some 75 photographs by Morgan and Marvin Smith. The works are on display in the lobby area of the Lister Hill Center (Building 38A). View the flyer announcing the exhibition (PDF). (Download PDF viewer)
The exhibition features photographs of daily life in Harlem from the 1930s through the 1950s. The photographs are divided into five sections that survey the lives of the photographers (they were twins) and their work:
"Harlem: The Vision of Morgan and Marvin Smith" is touring nationally under the auspices of the Schomburg Traveling Exhibition Program. Arrangements to have the photographs exhibited at the Library were made by the NLM EEO Manager, Mr. David Nash.
